The DeMontrond organization began as DeMontrond Buick Company, located at 2525 Kirby in Houston in 1953.  The company was founded by George A. DeMontrond, Jr.  In 1975 the company relocated to 14101 North Freeway on a twenty-five acre tract of land.

The company has grown and diversified over the last 30 years as the new car market dramatically changed.  During the latter, half of the 1980's DeMontrond aggressively sought franchise acquisitions to provide the necessary sales and service volume to operate at a profit.  Since 1992, franchise acquisitions include Volvo, Volkswagen, Kia, Suzuki, as well as RV's and Hummer's.  DeMontrond AutoCountry was established in Conroe in 1994 with Dodge, Chrysler, and Jeep.  In 1998 DeMontrond Motor Corporation was formed for the acquisition of Chevrolet, Toyota and now Hyundai along with RV's on the Gulf Freeway.
